Quire Work Download

Changelog

What's new

What changed in each version of the Quire Work apps and server, newest first.

Version 0.0.7

It feels like the platform's own app, and it opens with no network.

  • Back where you were: a room opens at its first unread message, keeps where it was scrolled, and a reload or a restart of the app reopens the same room and thread.
  • It opens with no network in a browser, the desk app and Android: the app and the newest messages of the last rooms are kept on the device, read only until the connection is back.
  • Calmer and lighter: typing or a message in another room redraws no message row; the counts above the rooms follow the socket, so a message no longer costs a request; the console, a person's pages and sheets load when opened (start-up script 25% smaller).
  • A room has a picture, set by whoever may rename it; a direct conversation shows the other person's face, with their presence dot.
  • The member list: Moderators and Remove are one row each under Invite, not two buttons on every person; a crown marks the owner and a shield a moderator; online, away and not here are three dots that can be told apart.
  • On a phone: the page no longer zooms or keeps a fold's old width; pictures zoom with two fingers; saving a file keeps it (Android's names with spaces or accents went to the share sheet; an iPhone saves to Photos or Files); haptics; a launch screen; swipe back that follows the finger on an iPhone; the iPhone's badge counts what needs you; the language and pause choices are rows of the menu instead of the system's list.
  • An iPhone call rings through CallKit, full screen on a locked phone, and a call's picture no longer freezes.
  • On a desk: the app has its own menu, its window follows light and dark and keeps being maximised, Windows gets a drawn title bar; shortcuts (Cmd+[ ], Cmd+1 to 9, Cmd+F, j and k, Esc, Cmd+/) and a Compact reading size.
  • An export is written where the server may write (QW_EXPORT_DIR, in the unit).

Version 0.0.6

Extensions, the owner's switches, a privacy policy said out loud, signed updates.

  • A slogan under the company's name in the sidebar, set in the console (at most 80 characters); a wider sidebar shows more of it, and "Quire Work" stands in when there is none.
  • Extensions installed from a manifest, with the scopes they ask for shown before they are allowed; their buttons work on a line only you see, and a form opened from one replaces it.
  • n8n has a node of its own, and posts in Rocket.Chat's shape still arrive unchanged.
  • The owner switches parts off (calls, files, apps and more), and the server refuses them, not only the screen.
  • A person's devices: every signed-in session with its address, signed out one at a time.
  • An export of the rooms as a zip of pages and tables, with their files.
  • The owner may look into a conversation when there is a real need: with a written reason, read only, for an hour, and every look on the trail. An admin who is not an owner cannot read conversations by any path. The privacy page says all of this in plain words, and a person is told when somebody reset their password.
  • Updates are signed: the desktop and Android apps install only what the publisher signed, on a stable or a beta channel, and a Mac is never dropped from the list again.
  • An app too old for its server says so and offers the update.
  • The server ships as an image too, and the web's files are served already compressed.

Version 0.0.5

The server and the web; the phone apps stay at 0.0.4 until the next build.

  • Opening a room on a phone no longer flickers: the list no longer shows through the room at the end of the slide, Android's blue flash on a tapped row is gone, the tab bar slides away with the list instead of blinking, and a room's messages start loading as the finger lands.
  • A call takes the whole screen on a phone and an opened fold: the face and name large, the buttons under the thumb with their words, made small to the bar and back. On a desk the ringing card has Decline and Answer as words with edges, and the face rings.
  • One button to call in a conversation; the camera is turned on from inside the call.
  • Calls reach a sleeping Android phone more reliably: the push that clears a read message's notice no longer goes at high priority, which Google was holding against the app.
  • Ready in the code for the next phone build: a ringing call on a locked Android phone gets its own screen over the lock screen.

Version 0.0.4

Calls ring, choose their speaker and carry video; the opened fold is fixed.

  • Video calls: the camera beside the phone in a conversation, the camera on and off, the back camera, your own picture in a corner you can drag.
  • Earpiece or loudspeaker in a call on a phone, and a headset or Bluetooth when there is one.
  • A ring of its own: in the app, and on a phone that is shut a ringing notice with Answer and Decline that stops when the call is answered anywhere, and says "Missed call" after.
  • On an opened fold: folding the list leaves no blank column; a room's details slide over the conversation instead of squeezing it; the views above the rooms are rows of the list.
  • Pictures open on black, and Save and Close read as buttons.
  • The search glass above the list is gone: the search box is right under it.

Version 0.0.3

  • Phones reach a message again: a tap shows its bar, a hold opens its menu with reply in thread, reactions, copy link and save. Since 0.0.1 a message nobody had answered could not be answered in a thread from a phone.
  • Work is a to-do list: Yours and You gave out, a round tick to finish, when, room and whose on one line, a tap for the rest. Finished work stays for the week, marked done; whoever gave a job out sees it finished on their list and in Activity, and the job's line in the room changes without a reload.
  • Apps can talk to people: slash commands, buttons and forms from an app, and replies only the presser sees. The ERP's commands come over on this once its side is switched on.
  • The pages above the rooms read as lists: who did what and when, where, what was said; reactions to one message as one row. Labels "Tin chua doc" and "Cong viec"; the phone tab is "Tin nhan".
  • One type scale and icons sized by their words, section names close to their rooms, tabs that never run into each other, call lines centred and close together.
  • Things come and go with motion instead of in one frame.
  • Mono works on Android, and an opened fold keeps its scale when it is turned.

Version 0.0.2

A workspace can bring its people over from another chat.

  • importpeople makes the accounts from a people file, with their photographs, and puts each person in the rooms they were in. Running it again makes nobody twice. Nobody gets a password until an administrator resets it in the console; somebody who had left comes in locked.
  • tools/import-rocketchat/export-people.sh writes that file from Rocket.Chat.

Version 0.0.1

From now on every release moves the last number, and Settings, Apps shows which version the page, the server and your app are running.

  • Activity: who named you, who reacted to what you wrote, and replies in threads you follow, from every room, with a count of what is new. It takes the place of For you.
  • Unread, Threads, Saved and Work open as pages instead of popups, and "Luong" is now "Chuoi tra loi". A room's header has the threads mark, with a count, and a Threads tab.
  • Phones get a floating tab bar: Home, Messages, Activity, Work.
  • Voice messages, and 1:1 voice calls that stay on the company's own server (the relay for phones on mobile data is still to be switched on).
  • Away is real: after two minutes out of sight or ten without touching the machine, one state for all your devices, and nobody stays green after closing the app.
  • Keys on a desk: Alt+Up/Down between rooms, Up to edit your last message, Ctrl or Cmd+/ for the list.
  • Strikethrough, named links and coloured code in messages.
  • Photos on phones: the Android camera works, saving goes to Pictures, an iPhone asks only to add photos.
  • The desktop app updates itself from this version on; install it by hand once more.
